TSR Theme Spotlight – Nature by BBThemesUnltd

 

It’s time for a review of another great theme here on TSR, and this time its from our friend jsmurf over at BBThemesUnltd! This theme, called “Nature” is the latest theme to launch from BBTU and as usual it doesn’t disappoint!

I’ve been running this theme now for almost a week, and the transition from screen to screen and between the dock and hidden dock are super smooth and there is no lag at all. You’ll want to use the current wallpaper that comes with this theme to make it be more cohesive between wall and theme. As you can see by the picture above and below, the main dock of icons on the front screen are flush with the tree limb on the wallpaper:

 

As usual, we’ve got some hotkeys to talk about, jsmurf does NOT cut corners when it comes to his themes. He’s going to jam pack it full of goodies, and that includes some simple hotkeys:

Alt 0 – Hides Dock
Alt X — Shows Dock

As you can see, all the icons are clean and sharp looking, easy to see against this wallpaper as is the font.

Blackberry Theme Spotlight: Curtain Call By JSmurfy For BBThemesUnltd

Hey folks! I wanted to share a great Blackberry theme from my friend JSmurfy with BBThemesUnltd. The theme is called Curtain Call and it’s rock solid! I’ve had this theme running on my Blackberry 9650 with no lag whatsoever. So, what’s so great about this particular theme? Let’s get to the goodies!

It’s very nice to have over 10 icons on your homescreen for all of your important applications and then being able to hide them with a flick of the switch to show off your favorite wallpaper. JSmurfy never fails to amaze me with his quality Blackberry theme designing skills.

TSR Theme Spotlight – DmD_Custom by BBThemesUnltd

Here we go again, we’ve got a JSmurf theme to let you know about, this one was a custom made theme for the winner of one of BBThemesUnltd’s contests! This theme is called DmD_Custom and is only available on the official BBThemesUnltd website.

DmD_Custom is completely custom built, with a sidebar of 12, that’s right… TWELVE scrolling icons along the left side of the home screen. Oh wait, that’s not all….over on the bottom right hand, you have a spot for a non-scrolling icon, and in this example it’s BBM.

DmD_Custom has a gorgeous wallpaper that you CAN change if you’d like, but it looks great on this theme, and also has a great custom banner at the top. All of your notifications show up against the black banner, so that they are not lost in the wallpaper. JSmurf was thinking ahead! No matter what wallpaper you use for this theme, the notifications will not get washed out.

Here are just a few of the other screens, showcasing what a great job JSmurf did with this theme:

As you can probably assume, JSmurf does not cut corners with his themes. He puts blood, sweat, and tears into every theme that he builds and works hard to make sure it works perfectly and that his customers are happy with his work. You will rarely (if ever) see stock icons with JSmurf’s themes, he will either use custom built icons or a set of icons that he has received permission to use, depending on what would work best in the project.

DmD_Custom works flawlessly, there was absolutely no lag on this one, and everything was easy on the eyes and well laid out. This was a well thought out theme and you did a fabulous job on it, JSmurf!

Theme Spotlight – Linux Redone From JSmurfy At BBThemesUnltd

The great Blackberry theme developer, JSmurfy, has generously given me his latest theme, Linux Redone, to run it through the paces. The theme (of course) consists of various Linux icons throughout. A 7-item bottom dock comes stock with the theme and it looks great with the dark background Kill Bill wallpaper supplied by JSmurfy. It also comes with a weather slot located in the upper-right portion of the homescreen.

The application screen is beautified with mini-Linux icons for Media, Browser, Options, etc. Trust me on this also…this theme runs beautifully with no lag that I’ve seen. Hidden today is also featured to show your Messages, Calendar entries, etc. on the homescreen. Check out this screenshot as well:

Theme Review: Blue_Carbon by BBThemesUnltd

I was lucky enough to try out this great new theme by JSmurf over at BBThemesUnltd, and I’m happy to be able to do a review on it for you! The theme is called Blue_Carbon, and it is currently UNAVAILABLE for purchase ANYWHERE. This theme is an exclusive to The Sauce Report and as soon as it’s available for purchase, we’ll be sure to let you know!

Blur_Carbon boasts 10 icons on the front screen, perfect for people (like myself) who want everything on the main screen, thus being able to avoid having to go to the application screen for anything.

Everything on the main screen is laid out nicely for you, on the top right hand corner, you will see the Sound Profile menu, simply select that icon and you will have access to your sounds. To the left of that icon you will see the rest of the notification bar, and all of your icons show up nicely up top, letting you know what messages/notifications are waiting for you.

You have three options for your dock:

* top dock -> ALT E
* bottom dock -> ALT D
* no dock -> ALT 0

Completely user definable and you are not locked into one type of dock. The icons are user set, as well. You pick what 10 icons you want to appear on your dock, the only thing that is static is the Sound Profiles icon.

Now along the bottom notification bar you have your battery meter, which is completely straight-forward, it’s listed as a percentage. No more squinting to see where the meter shows your battery at. To the right of that is your signal meter, again set in percentage format. Two thumbs up for that, JSmurf!

The two notification bars are easy to read with grey tones. The background wallpaper for Blue_Carbon is an easy on the eyes blue and white checked color. I should point out that this theme is a hidden today theme, so your emails/calendar items show up nicely on the background.

The menu is easy to read and you can easily see what menu item is selected. Also, the hourglass icon is the BlackBerry App World symbol and stands out nicely, so it’ll be easy to see while your BlackBerry works it’s magic for you.

All in all this is a great theme, it shows ZERO lag straight from the gate, and from what I understand it will be released (don’t hold me to this) in four different colors. Stay tuned for more info on this theme as it becomes available, including what OS and devices that this theme will be compatible with. Knowing JSmurf and his themes, pretty much everyone will have access to this theme!
