Motorola Droid Pro Pricing Revealed – $179.99 with contract and rebate

November 4, 2010 4 comments

Well, it looks like we finally have confirmation of pricing for the Motorola Droid Pro upcoming on the Verizon network. I believe $179.99 after a $100 rebate on a 2-year contract is pretty fair. Heck, $249.99 would almost be more enticing on a 1-year deal for those who like to upgrade fairly often. Anybody grabbing the Droid Pro on Big Red? You diggin’ that physical QWERTY keyboard combined with Android goodness? Hit us up in the comments with your reaction.

Remember how we brought you the Motorola Droid Pro launch date but were left wondering what it would cost? Wonder no more. Your cost, after two-year contract and $100 rebate, will be $179.99. A one-year deal will be $249.99 when all is said and done, and off-contract will be $479.99. All in all, not bad for a phone with a 1GHz processor, full QWERTY keyboard and the ability to work overseas.

Froyo to be pushed to Motorola Droid this week

August 2, 2010 2 comments

Verizon Wireless has announced through various tweets that they will be pushing Froyo, AKA Android 2.2 to their Motorola DROID handsets sometime this week. No definite date yet on when they’ll start the push or who will get it first.

I know that there are many DROID owners out there that have been eager to get Froyo on their devices, so this should make many people very happy, considering that the device was launched in November 2009 and has been slow to get updates since birth.

We’ll keep our eyes open for this push and let you know when they start rolling out so that you can keep an eye out on your own device. Be sure to let us know when you get your push!

Copy of just one tweet from the VZW camp:

RT @VerizonWireless Verizon Wireless pushes Froyo, Android 2.2, to the Droid by Motorola (introduced November 2009) this week. Um, yay.

The rest if the tweets I saw today were from VZW PR people backing up this statement.

About “Inception” Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in “Inception,” an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the best in the dangerous art of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible – inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse; their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. This summer, your mind is the scene of the crime.

Droid X fans….have you started looking for YOUR Droid X? Maybe between all of us we can find ONE, that’d be fun.

There are currently 21 devices floating around (will there be more? Who knows) and @DroidLanding has been dropping hints like wildfire, even more so over the past week. The contest officially started on July 7th at noon EST and runs until July 15th at 11:59PM EST.

Here’s what we know so far:

First of all, you shouldn’t be looking for a DEVICE, per se. That just wouldn’t make sense. You can’t leave it outside in the elements without risking damage. You should be looking for a certificate that will let you know that you have just earned yourself a FREE Droid X.

Here are the locations that we’re sure of as of now:

1. Nevada
2. Los Angeles, CA – found
3. San Francisco, CA – found
4. New York, NY – found
5. Dallas, TX – found
6. Orlando, FL – found
7. Seattle, WA
8. Birmingham, AL – found
9. Nashville, TN – found
10. Houston, TX – found
11. Oklahoma City, OK – found
12. Cleveland, OH – found
13. Buffalo, NY – found
14. Chicago, Illinois – found
15. Denver, CO
16. St. Louis, MO
17. Detroit, Michigan – found
18. Minneapolis, Minnesota – found
19. Philadelphia, PA – found
20. Boston, MA  - found
21. Washington, DC – found

You can also head over to the official site: http://www.droiddoes.com for more information.

The official rules can be found here: http://phones.verizonwireless.com/droid/x/legal.html

Things are about to get HOT because once the certificates are hidden, the GPS location of the certificate will be tweeted and you’ll have 4 hours to find it. So lace up your sneakers, clear your calendar and get ready for the scavenger hunt. It’s about to get X-CITING (sorry, I couldn’t resist). No fighting!!

Incredible Gets Delayed Again

July 7, 2010 1 comment

Are you one of the many people who ordered an HTC Incredible from Verizon Wireless in the last few months? If so, you’re no stranger to delays and looks of pity that the device is out of stock.

Well, if you head over to the Verizon Wireless website and look at the Incredible now….you’ll see that it’s now delayed even further. It’s no longer back ordered until the end of July, it’s now out of stock until August 3rd.

Who knows how much longer these delays will last, but if you have one on order, you might want to look into your delivery date.

Anyone waiting for one now? Thinking of canceling the order and going with something else? The Droid X perhaps? Let us know in the comments below.
