TSR Theme Spotlight – Asepsis by HedoneDesign

The folks over at HedoneDesign were kind enough to let us try out their latest theme, Asepsis, and let me tell you, this is a GREAT looking theme! I must admit, it takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you do get used to it, you’ll love it!

On the front screen, you’ll see that the main icons are all scattered about in a cluster. The icon highlight is vibrant and bold, you will never be lost on this screen. The icons are gorgeous, HedoneDesign did a great job with them! All of these icons are user set, so put whatever TEN, yes TEN icons that you want on this home screen. There’s even a spot for a weather app here.

Once again, on this screen, the wallpaper is bright red and vibrant. Everything is easy to read and very modern looking, with clean lines. Simply hit the space bar from the main screen (non touch versions) to get to your messages and calendar items. Easy and convenient hot key that will get you to all of your important items at-a-glance!

As you can see below, the menu items are very easy to read, the red pops against the black background, making it super easy on the eyes. Personally, I like a small font, and this font seems to me to be the perfect size!

All in all, another awesome theme by HedoneDesign, who (IMHO) never fail to disappoint.

TSR Theme Spotlight – Nova by HedoneDesign

 

HedoneDesign has released a brand new theme and I had a chance to give it a test run before it was released. This new theme is called Nova and it can be found in the HedoneDesign shop for just $6.99!

I can tell you that right out of the gate (as with all of HedoneDesign themes) this theme was slick, smooth, and lagless! That’s right…. no battery pull here. This theme boasts all new icons never before seen in any themes anywhere! Here’s a shot of these icons:

 

DESCRIPTION: Unlike a super-nova, a nova is a star that just gets brighter and brighter. There is something, however, quite “super” about this particular nova.
Our designers spent a lot of time coming up with an entirely new icon set like nothing you’ve seen before. Icons are symbols meant to convey a thought, an idea or a function in the simplest and clearest of forms – reminiscent of the designs of famed Braun industrial designer Dieter Rams and the original Mac icon set. Simple. Elegant. Communicative. Classic.

Nova also features a message and calendar board that can be accessed by simply navigating up. Individual items can be selected and viewed/edited with a single press of a button, keeping with the Hedone Design concept that form is not separate from function, but, if properly utilized, work with and from one another – the beauty IS the brawn.

As you can see, the folks over at HedoneDesign have worked hard to make this theme stand out from the rest, and they’ve done a great job! This theme is fantastic and looks spectacular on my Curve 8530!

Wait….purple? How did a PURPLE screen shot get in there? Well that’s because this theme comes in both Purple and Blue! Use whichever one you like best! I can tell you that it will be hard to decide though.

From the main screen, scroll left to right to see your future calendar events (see above) and/or your current emails. They’ve thought of everything with this themes, HedoneDesign never fails to go big!

All in all, two thumbs up for Nova! I highly recommend this theme for all theme lovers!

TSR Theme Spotlight – HEDONEDESIGN V2.0 – FREE

 

What….??? A FREE theme? Unheard of! However…. to honor HedoneDesign’s 2nd birthday, they’re offering TSR readers their newest theme: HedoneDesign V2.0 ABSOLUTELY FREE!

DESCRIPTION: Whew! What a busy year we’ve had this last year! Before you know it, it’s time for our new FREE V2.0 theme in honour of another birthday here at HedoneDesign.

Much like, and, in the same breath, absolutely nothing like, the original V1.0 theme, V2.0 uses our now-famous “Scalpel” icon-set (having earned that name from it’s obvious sharpness). The home-screen layout, this year however, looks like something straight out of a Stanisaw Lem (Solaris) novel, replete with cream-white plasticine walls, touch-panels and questionable robots named “Maximillian.”

Blackberry Theme Spotlight: Skeper By HedoneDesign

You know what? Excellence and variety are 2 of the words that come to mind when I think of Blackberry themes from HedoneDesign. The latest theme from the crew, Skeper, is no exception.

DESCRIPTION: Skeper is for all of You who search amusing, funny, different and in the same time functional. It will entertain You with something new and funny every time You look at Your Blackberry Smartphone.

Let’s have a look-see at this great theme that I’ve just downloaded. Thanks to HedoneDesign for allowing me to review this blockbuster theme.

Take a look at my homescreen above. Pretty darn cool, eh? You can see the smiley face symbol for the battery meter to let you know that you have a good charge. The blue signal is awesome and eye-catching as well. You’ll notice the little “this one” symbol below my Messages icon. This is the indicator to let you know what app/icon you’re pointed towards, which is another great addition from the HedoneDesign crew. The theme kinda makes ya feel young at heart, eh? This theme supplies the eye candy plus functionality as you would expect.

Above is a screenie of my incoming Messages and this truly provides a nice, simple and easy-to-read overview. Did I mention there is absolutely no lag to this theme? Trust me…NO LAG HERE!!!

Above is another capture of my Applications page where you see that all basic icons on your Blackberry are fully-skinned.
I could go on and on about this theme but you just need to give it a shot and experience some Skeper goodness for yourselves.

Theme Spotlight – OS6Like by HedoneDesign

Hey everyone, it’s time for a theme review! Thanks to the great folks over at HedoneDesign, we bring you the brand new OS6Like theme, and the name says it all. You’re getting a theme that is designed to look like a device running OS6!

I have been running this theme now for just over 24 hours and I can say that even BEFORE a battery pull, it was running as smooth as….well…. as a baby’s bottom. Zero lag at all! I personally run the Today/Today+ version of any theme I run across (IF it’s an option) as it showcases all that I need to see at a glance – email and calendar events, and these stand out PERFECTLY on the home screen. Very easy on the eyes.

Now let’s get into the specs on this theme:

This is BlackBerry6 replica theme for 4.x and 5.x BlackBerry OS. You will find 16 homescreen icons (12 user customizable) on Bold, Tour and Curve series and 20 (16 user customizable) on Storm series. To get more information on look and feel of this theme you may wanna check out the videos at the bottom of this page.

Theme is prepared in two main options:
- Zen (doesn’t include TodayPreview feature)
- TodayPreview (TodayPreview function included (when Messages or Calendar icon is hovered you’ll see future events or new messages on homescreen))

You can get an idea via the above picture just how clear the menu options are. That is a selling point for me. I have to be able to see what I’m doing, even in menus that I know like the back of my hand, as I’m sure this is how MOST people feel.

TSR Theme Spotlight – Pneuma by HedoneDesign

HedoneDesign let us know about their newest theme to hit the store just the other day, this one is called Pneuma. Pneuma (πνεύμα) is an ancient Greek word for “breath,” and in a religious context for “spirit” or “soul.”

Here’s some info on this great theme, from the official HedoneDesign page:

Simple and straight forward theme with awesome 3D icons and new, but simple navigation. HomeScreen includes TodayPreview (on some versions*) and 12 icons that you can scrool up and down.
Theme is made in 4 different styles:
